The hair removal method known as “body sugaring” is an inexpensive, natural alternative to salon treatments. It removes hair form the root, causing regrowth to be more delicate and reduced.
After using this ancient hair removal technique for a few months, the treated hair will stop growing completely.
One must first prepare a paste comprised of sugar, water, and lemon juice, which is then heated. Let the paste cool down enough to not burn the skin.
After the paste is spread on the desired area, it is covered with strips of cotton cloth which are then ripped off against the hair’s grain. Many people find this method less painful than commercial waxing.
Here is the recipe for the sugar paste:
2 cups sugar
¼ cup lemon juice
¼ cup water
Equipment: candy thermometer
1. Mix the ingredients in a heavy saucepan and keep the mixture on low heat. Using a candy thermometer, make sure that the mixture reaches a temperature of 250 Fahrenheit and doesn’t boil.
2. Remove the mixture form the heat and let it cool until it can be poured in a heat-resistant glass jar or container.
